How many times can you stand to fail?

How many times can you stand to fail and keep trying to do a certain thing?

Thomas Edison “failed” 10,000 times trying to make the incandescent light bulb work.  I have read other accounts where it was “unofficially” of 14,000 attempts before he got it right.

He was interviewed and stated that his thinking was that he “had successfully found over 10,000 ways it would not work!”  Every “failed” attempt brought him one step closer to getting it right.

Every time I want to quit something I think (try to remember) of this story.  10,000 times and still pressing on!!!  It’s almost superhuman but then again that is why he found success.

I have also heard that success is just getting up one more time than falling down.  Just pure stickability.

I guess that’s why you have to seriously love what you do!  I learned that if you make it a game, that will change your thinking and give you that motivation to keep moving!

So whatever it is you are doing, make it a game and learn to love it.  Therein is a secret to success!

Don’t take it from me though, just look at Thomas Edison!

Successful people are always too busy doing..

Successful people are always too busy doing..

What the other guys are talking about.  Successful people are always too busy doing…

That is something I still need to drill into my own head.  Successful people are always too busy doing!!

Successful people aren’t waiting around to see if they get a lead.  They aren’t sitting around pouting because they didn’t make any sales that day!  They are too busy doing!!

Taking action.

Making progress.

Writing blog posts.

Actively promoting business.

Making money.

Successful people are too busy doing!

Are you persistent enough to succeed?

Are you persistent enough to succeed?

I have been reading Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich” and the chapter on persistence gets me every time!  Persistence is one of those things that is easier said than done for me.

What I mean by that is that I would start a new project and quickly move on to something else before I saw any major success!  I have done this in my military career, former marriage, and in my online businesses.

Persistence is sticking it out.  Yes I knew that, but I didn’t really know it.  I heard a phrase “to know and not to do, is not to know,” which means if I wasn’t actually applying it, then I didn’t actually know the information.

I am learning that the level of persistence needed is the kind of persistence that doesn’t care about results.  What I mean is that before I would start a project, not see results, and then quit.  Now I start a project I don’t care about results.

The only thing I’m focused on in my current online business is writing blog posts.  I don’t care if I get 20 leads, make $100 sale, or make nothing.  I find that by having that mentality is when I make the most money.

When I don’t care about the money is when I make the most money.  Sounds crazy but that’s how it works for me!

Hope you got something out of this!  Feel free to leave a comment or share!

Just Don’t Quit

Just Don’t Quit

There are going to be many different obstacles that come your way.  Things will fall apart at the most inconvenient time.  Sometimes you will just plain get in your own way.

I have noticed this in my life.  Sometimes I was looking left when I should have been looking right.  Sometimes I was looking down when I should have been looking up.  Sometimes I look back and get so mad at myself for doing so.

But the best thing to do is just learn what the lesson was and actually apply it to the future.  That means to be on the lookout for the same situation and, instead of doing the same thing over again, to rise above it and apply your lesson learned.

I heard something called strength of character.  Character is, as defined by Cavett Robert, following through on a decision long after the excitement of the moment has passed.

Yes there are plenty of things I can focus on and get down on myself for doing, but that doesn’t serve me at all.  The best thing to do is to refocus and press on.

So it boils down to two things you need in order to be successful.

1)     Get Started!
2)     Don’t Quit!

Just that simple!

Everyday listen to audios, read good books, and network for the best success!

Everyday listen to audios, read good books, and network for the best success!

Every single day we are bombarded by negativity.  The media, other people, and even our own selves!

What I’m learning by my memberships with the Global Information Network and the Empower Network is that everyday you need to feed your mind for the best success.

You feed your mind by listening to motivational, inspirational, and successful type audios, reading good books, and network with people who have the level of success that you want.

Success is a lifestyle and not a point in time or a destination.  I myself have thought that once you get to a “certain point” then I can consider myself successful.  What I have learned is that once you consider yourself as “having arrived” then look out because calamity is quickly coming.

Success is something that has to constantly progressive and continuous.  It is certainly not a point in time but a lifestyle.

What is your definition of success?

For a while I personally struggled with this one.  My definition of success was a certain amount of cash in the bank, having a nice vehicle, being in a good relationship, and dressing nicely.  As I studied more about the definition of success, the more I realized that success is a constant journey.

What I mean by that is that it isn’t when you get to a certain point you will be successful.  It’s the journey itself.  Deciding to make that journey and then setting forth on that journey is success.  Making a decision is the most important part.  Just decide to do so but there is an equally important part that also needs to be done and that is taking action.

Decide and act.  That’s it.  In my personal business I have found that just simplifying everything and focusing on one thing is best.  I wasn’t successful because I was focusing on so many different things and not focusing on one.  Once I decided on my one thing to focus on, then I simply made a decision that is going to be it.  The evidence of this blog post is me finally taking the required action necessary.

The only thing that separates me from my goal is time now.  What is your definition of success?

Success is in one more phone call.

What does that mean success is in one more phone call?

Last night in working my Zeek Rewards business, I was calling on a few people who have opted into my marketing website and of course that always presents a myriad of situations.  I got a lot of wrong numbers and voicemails which is the nature of the beast as this is a numbers game.

Regardless, after one lady rudely hung up on me, which was my next to last phone call, I was getting a little annoyed.  It isn’t about getting people to join as I only call people after they came to my website and requested more info.  It’s more about they have wanted more info on making money.  They are obviously broke.  They are obviously looking for an extra means of income.  They came to my website and put in their info.  I call them once or twice and get blasted for trying to help!

Regardless, that’s how people are.  I made one more phone call and now I’m welcoming Gloria to my Zeek Rewards team!

Success is in making one more phone call.  Taking one more shot.  Running one more lap.  Throwing one more punch.  Getting up one more time than falling down is what success is!  I hope you get some value out of this!

Money, Success, and You

Money, Success, and You

So mostly, this blog is indicative of my own journey towards this thing called success.  I have heard it said that “success is the progressive realization of a worthwhile goal.”  In other words, if you have a goal and are working toward it, then you are successful by that definition.

My question is, yes you may be working towards a goal but when you have no money, it’s hard to feel successful.  According to the definition if you have a goal of making a certain amount of money and are taking definitive steps towards it, you are a success.  Just because you may not actually possess the money doesn’t make you a failure.

What about money, success, and youYou have to become a success before the money will actually come.  Just keep plugging away and you will find that success means a lot more than just money to you!

I’m mostly speaking to myself through this blog but if you get any value feel free to leave a comment or pass this along.

Keep Swinging til He goes Down!

So in this thing called success, life, business, or whatever you want to call it what is the one thing that will bring you success?

Success is simply getting up one more time than falling down.  When you don’t feel like going any more, just commit to traveling one more inch and see what happens.  You are in the fight of your life and you don’t ever stop punching, kicking, scratching, biting, or whatever it takes to get the victory.  Just keep swinging until he goes down, period!

Stay focused and obsessed with what you want.  Don’t stop for anything and keep forging even when you don’t feel like it.  Keep pressing on even though you can’t stand even to think about it anymore.  Until you want success as much as you want to take your next breath, then you will not obtain it.

Just keep swinging with everything inside of you.  Whatever your business, passion, or pursuit is go after it with everything inside of you and don’t let anything get in your way.  That is what success is.  Success is a journey, not a destination!

Put your head down and press on!

I hope that you get some value out of this.

Just Do It One More Time

I heard from a few different places that success is simply getting up one more time than falling down.  That being said, can you say success is a numbers game?  Just get back up or just do it one more time than you failed, and you will be successful.

I also heard a story of a woman who was lost at sea.  I don’t remember the exact details but what I do remember is that she was ridiculously far away from shore.  She ended up swimming all the way back to shore.  They interviewed her and asked “how did she get the strength to swim all the way back?”

She answered them saying “I didn’t think about the total distance I had to go.  Each stroke I thought I only had to do it one more time.”  Just do it one more time!  It’s that simple.

I heard another story about insurance salesman in Germany.  They were told to do everything wrong and go door to door selling insurance.  What they found is that 1 out of every 56 homes, someone bought the insurance.

Whatever business you are in or whatever goals you have, just keep on keeping on and just keep doing that, you will succeed!  That is basically my reason for this blog.  I’m writing posts and articles pointing to this blog.  Every single time I get another post or article out there that is a success for me!

Find something that you can do to remind you of your daily success!  Focus and concentrate on what you succeeded at today.  Do that and you will find that more and more success will come your way!  Just keep swinging and sooner or later, you will connect!

I hope that you get some value out of this.

Through the Tears of my mistakes I know my “why!”

A lot of people say you need to know your why!  Your why is the biggest reason of your life.  We all have one and sometimes it takes a while to discover it.  I was painfully made aware of what my personal why is.

My personal “why” keeps me going amid my mistakes, failures, successes, fears, and insecurities.  It is when I need to find some reasons to keep going.  To keep going when I want to drive my car right past the office and never come back.  To keep going amid all the rejection and negativity.

The point is I am going to succeed or I’m going to die in the process but you will find me still scratching, fighting, clawing, and grabbing at my personal definition of a successful life.

I cry sometimes because I want it so bad and am up very early and up very late working on my dream.  I will write blog posts and articles because I want to be successful.  I will continue to talk to people everyday because I want to be successful.  I will continue to push forward with everything inside of me because I have four kids that I haven’t talked to because of personal mistakes and failures on my part and I will not rest until things are made right.

That is my why that will keep me going strong amid every challenge that comes my way.

I hope that you get some value out of this.

Helping other’s become successful will make you successful!

One thing that took me a long time to really learn was that in order to become successful, you have to truly help other’s become successful.  In the beginning, I was thinking “I need to make some money” or “I need people to buy XYZ product.”  With that mentality, it was no wonder why I wasn’t successful.

It kind of hit me like a ton of bricks.  It’s also the law of attraction at work.  I was putting out to the universe “I need to make money” and “I don’t have enough money.”  So I was getting back more “need” to make money and events that highlighted my “not having enough money.”

Also people can sense that when you are “only out for yourself.”  It wasn’t directly but still I was indirectly.  I have heard it said that “there is nothing worse than a starving salesman!”

When you give off the vibe of helping others, you will get that back.  Other’s will “help” you out and want to buy your product, service, or into your business.  Shift your focus from “trying to make money” to “wanting to help others” and watch how much your world shifts!

I hope that you get some value out of this.

Focus Creates Success

Focus Creates Success

I will say it again.  Focus creates success.  To be successful at anything one needs to focus.  I learned this lesson again the hard way and am still trying to learn this.

In the beginning of my network marketing aspirations, I bounced around from company to company.  I honestly didn’t stay with one program long enough to become successful at it.  Network marketing is the easiest profession as all you really have to do is to give presentations and show others how to do the same.

Giving presentations is as simple as sending someone a video, online audio, or present the program to them yourself in person.

My problem was I kept going from program to program and not showing the plan to anyone.  I lacked focus therefore I lacked success as well.

I picked my horse now and now I’m going to ride it!  That is the mentality you need to be successful in anything!  Focus creates success!

I hope that you get some value out of this.

Rob's Success Blog

This is my first post here actually.  There are multiple reasons as to why I am writing this blog.  I have made a lot of mistakes in my life and I’m sure there are plenty more that I’m going to make.  In fact, I might as well just say that I plan on making more as I go along.  It’s just a natural part of life and that’s how we learn and grow.

Success is the progressive realization of a worthwhile goal.  I really am still getting that concept through my thick skull.  To me, that means that as long as you are taking action toward your goals, then you are successful.  To me, that doesn’t mean having $100,000 cash in the bank although that may or may not be a particular goal.

I guess what I’m saying is that success isn’t a destination but a constant journey.  The universe is ever expanding and growing.  There is no set point any of us can ever obtain.  We will constantly be moving toward a goal or destination.  The point is to not be thrown about by not having any goals you want.

One other thing I understand is that we may not necessarily now “how” we are to do something.  As long as you know “what” you want, the “how” will take care of itself.

I hope that you get some value out of this.
